Around 1,000 children invited to charity concert

Amidst ongoing broad celebrations of the International Child Protection Day, Tashkent’s Istiqlol Palace hosted a charity concert titled “We Are One Family. Adults + Children = Building a Future Together”. As many as 1,000 tickets to the concert that featured Uzbek pop stars were distributed free of charge among children from orphanages.

Prior to the concert the invited children were taken on a tour of landmark sites in Tashkent along with visits to museums, parks and other spots in Tashkent.

The concert kicked off with a lottery and five of those seated in the grand venue ended up winning a bicycle each.

Dances and singers of Marvarid (Pearl) children’s theater presented an exciting and memorable concert program that centered on the theme of school.

The end of the academic year, which annually concludes with a traditional “last ring”, ushers in the long-awaited summer vacation, while for those who have graduated from school the singers at the concert performed songs about professions and goals they want to pursue.

The young performers sang alongside Uzbek pop stars and actors such as Shohrukhkhon, Ulugbek Rahmatullayev, Otabek Mutalhojayev, Doston Ubaidullayev, singer-songwriter Shahnoz, music groups Surhon and Marka, and actor Muhammadiso among others.

As the children’s event came to an end, there’s a variety of other summer surprised that Fund Forum and its partners have in store for thousands of children. Among the upcoming events are: “In the Name of Childhood” Charity Ball set to take place July 6 at the Japanese garden and Baby International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament scheduled for July 7.

The concert organizers include the Social Initiatives Support Fund, the Women’s Council, Mehr Nuri Public Foundation, the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Uzbekistan, the Central Council of Trade Unions at the Agroindustrial Complex of Uzbekistan and Marvarid children’s theater.
